opening doors through hockey
what we do
building the future
road to success

guiding the
next generation
Navigating the hockey system has many challenges. We are a safe place for parents and players to turn to. We are here to discuss issues and grievances, and offer guidance and support. Also through our social media platforms, we highlight players, coaches, and leaders to increase awareness and provide much needed recognition.

summits, camps
& tournaments
Bringing the community together through the sport of hockey is at the heart of what we do. In 2025, we are proud to host three Ice Hockey Summits in Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto—each designed to celebrate culture, connection, and the growing impact of South Asians in the game. Earlier this year, in May, we also sponsored and organized the 8th Bi-Annual South Asian Canada Cup, formerly known as the Indo Canada Cup, continuing a tradition of competitive excellence and community pride.
financial assistance
& scholarships
We’re working to remove financial barriers so more athletes can access the game of hockey. As part of this effort, we’re raising funds to provide free equipment to new players who want to try ice hockey but may not have the means to get started. By offering essential gear, we’re helping young athletes take their first steps onto the ice with confidence.
Next year we aim to support high-level players by awarding seven scholarships of $5,000 each to those competing at the Zone, AA, AAA, or Academy levels—helping ease the costs of training, travel, and competition. Additionally, we are raising funds to grant $1,500 each to three players from underrepresented minority groups, furthering our commitment to a more inclusive and diverse hockey community.

growing the
female game
South Asian Hockey Association is playing a crucial role in growing the female hockey game by creating opportunities for South Asian girls to participate, develop, and excel in the sport. Through specialized training programs, mentorship initiatives, and community outreach, we are breaking down barriers that have historically limited female participation in hockey. By providing a culturally inclusive environment, we encourage young girls to pursue the game with confidence, knowing they have the support of their families and their community. South Asian Hockey Association creates female specific tournaments, development camps, and networking events that connect aspiring female athletes with role models in the sport, fostering a strong and sustainable pipeline for future generations.
"playing hockey with other south asian girls makes me proud of who i am - united by culture, strength, and love for the game."
- Myah Kang
